Tick­ets on sale for Cel­e­brate Dorch­ester

CAM­BRIDGE — Get a taste of Dorch­ester County and cel­e­brate the heart of the Ch­e­sa­peake at Cel­e­brate Dorch­ester Tues­day, June 21, hosted by the Dorch­ester Cham­ber of Com­merce.

The evening fea­tures a taste of Dorch­ester’s restau­rants along with silent auc­tions, award pre­sen­ta­tions and mu­si­cal en­ter­tain­ment at Sail­winds Park-Gover­nors Hall in Cam­bridge.

The evening fea­tures a taste of Dorch­ester’s restau­rants along with a silent auc­tion, award pre­sen­ta­tions and mu­si­cal en­ter­tain­ment at Sail­winds Park-Gover­nors Hall in Cam­bridge.

Tick­ets are $40 up un­til June 21, and will be $45 at the door. Tick­ets can be purc­ahsed For tick­ets, by con­tact­ing the Cham­ber at 410-228-3575, info@ dorch­ester­cham­ber.org, www.dorch­ester­cham­ber. org, or stop by the Cham­ber of­fice lo­cated at 528 Po­plar Street in Cam­bridge.

Dorch­ester County has a rich tra­di­tion of agri­cul­ture — pro­duc­ing an abun­dance of qual­ity pro­duce, seafood, meats and poul­try. The county also is known for its de­lec­ta­ble restau­rants, and is home to a fam­ily-owned win­ery and craft brew­ery. At the event, more than a dozen re­gional chefs will join the cham­ber in a salute to Dorch­ester County, cre­at­ing dishes high­light­ing lo­cally pro­duced in­gre­di­ents.

Busi­nesses to be fea­tured at Cel­e­brate Dorch­ester in­clude Bistro Po­plar, Black Wa­ter Cof­fee House, Gar­den and Gar­nish, High Spot Gas­tropub, Hoop­ers Is­land Oys­ter Aqua­cul­ture, Jim­mie and Sook’s Raw Bar and Grill, Katie Mae’s Coun­try Shoppe, Lay­ton’s Chance Vine­yard and Win­ery, Ocean Odyssey, Pizza Ziya, Rock Lob­stah, RAR Brew­ing, Stoked Wood Fired Eatery, Verona Pizza and Wa­ter’s Edge at the Hy­att.

Pro­duc­ers to be fea­tured will be Barten­felder Farms, Emily’s Pro­duce, Hoop­ers Is­land Oys­ter Aqua­cul­ture, Kool Ice and Seafood, Mad­house Oys­ters, Rip­pons Broth­ers Seafood, Rus­sell Hall Seafood, SB Farms, Sim­mons Cen­ter Mar­ket and Soft and Salty Seafood.

In 2015, com­mu­nity mem­bers at­tend­ing the event voted Jim­mie and Sook’s as the Best Taste Ex­pe­ri­ence. Its win­ning dish was crab and cheese won­tons with sweet and sour sauce.

The silent auc­tion ben­e­fits the Jason T. Wise Schol­ar­ship Foun­da­tion. There will be lo­cal tal­ent on stage along with guest ap­pear­ances by lo­cal his­tor­i­cal char­ac­ters, lo­cal ar­ti­sans, and farm equip­ment and boats will be set up for view­ing.
