Plein Air painting exhibition July 8
CAMBRIDGE — The third annual Plein Air Paint-Out will be coming to Cambridge on Friday, July 8.
Artists will set up to paint “en plein air,” meaning outdoors, around Cambridge to capture their view of the area scenery on canvas. The public is encouraged to come out and watch the painters at their work.
The culmination of the day is the Wet Paint Show and Sale that will take place along High Street, starting at the arts center. All of the paintings created that morning will be offered for sale from noon until 2 p.m.
The artists themselves will select a painting done by one of their peers to receive a cash prize. This Artists’ Choice Award is sponsored by William T. Hunt Insurance, Downtown Frame of Mine, Folger Nolan Fleming Douglas, and Newcomb and Collins.
Katie Mae’s Country Shoppe and Cambridge Eateries will provide breakfast and lunch to the artists.
Wednesday Morning Artists represented by Nancy Snyder, Dorchester Center for the Arts represented by Janette Jones, Cambridge Main Street represented by Tom Hutchinson, and the City of Cambridge represented by Brandon Hesson, organized the the event.
