Plein Air paint­ing ex­hi­bi­tion July 8

CAM­BRIDGE — The third an­nual Plein Air Paint-Out will be com­ing to Cam­bridge on Friday, July 8.

Artists will set up to paint “en plein air,” mean­ing out­doors, around Cam­bridge to cap­ture their view of the area scenery on can­vas. The pub­lic is en­cour­aged to come out and watch the painters at their work.

The cul­mi­na­tion of the day is the Wet Paint Show and Sale that will take place along High Street, start­ing at the arts cen­ter. All of the paint­ings cre­ated that morn­ing will be of­fered for sale from noon un­til 2 p.m.

The artists them­selves will se­lect a paint­ing done by one of their peers to re­ceive a cash prize. This Artists’ Choice Award is spon­sored by William T. Hunt In­sur­ance, Down­town Frame of Mine, Fol­ger Nolan Flem­ing Dou­glas, and New­comb and Collins.

Katie Mae’s Coun­try Shoppe and Cam­bridge Eater­ies will pro­vide break­fast and lunch to the artists.

Wednesday Morn­ing Artists rep­re­sented by Nancy Sny­der, Dorch­ester Cen­ter for the Arts rep­re­sented by Janette Jones, Cam­bridge Main Street rep­re­sented by Tom Hutchinson, and the City of Cam­bridge rep­re­sented by Bran­don Hes­son, or­ga­nized the the event.
