Dorchester Historical Society offers ‘Honoring Our Past’ luncheon
CAMBRIDGE — The Dorchester County Historical Society will be offering a Genealogy Lunch at the Heritage Museums and Gardens, to be held at noon on Wednesday, July 20.
The lunch will focus on honoring military family members and ancestors. This event is free and open to the public and runs about one hour.
Wayne Towers will share the history and military life of his deceased Aunt Meta Mills who served in the US Air Force from 1950 to 1975. Colonel Mills’ service took her all over the world and was honored with many different medals. Learn about her connection to NASA. Dorothy Shortall will share about her experiences in trying to join a local genealogical society. Her excitement upon “meeting” her ancestor, Gabriel Slacum is palpable and contagious.
