Community radio station hosting anniversary open house
CAMBRIDGE — WHCP Cambridge Community Radio will celebrate its first anniversary with an Open House from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, July 9.
Drop in to record your station ID and hear yourself on air. Take a free tour of the studios. Enjoy music, fun and goodies for all. Also meet the station’s staff and on-air personalities who will be on hand throughout the day for a “Desert Island Radio DJ” event featuring music each of them has chosen to have on a desert island.
WHCP Cambridge Community Radio broadcasts on 101.5 FM and offers worldwide streaming at whcp. org. The station broadcasts 24/7 and features more than 160 hours of music and talk shows, most of which are produced locally. WHCP Radio is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit operating under an FCC-issued license to Historic Cambridge, Inc., also a 501(c) 3. WHCP is the Mid-Shore’s only local noncommercial FM station, and is made possible by an all-volunteer staff, member/listener support and local under writing sponsors.
