Com­mu­nity ra­dio sta­tion host­ing an­niver­sary open house

CAM­BRIDGE — WHCP Cam­bridge Com­mu­nity Ra­dio will cel­e­brate its first an­niver­sary with an Open House from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Satur­day, July 9.

Drop in to record your sta­tion ID and hear your­self on air. Take a free tour of the stu­dios. En­joy mu­sic, fun and good­ies for all. Also meet the sta­tion’s staff and on-air per­son­al­i­ties who will be on hand through­out the day for a “Desert Is­land Ra­dio DJ” event fea­tur­ing mu­sic each of them has cho­sen to have on a desert is­land.

WHCP Cam­bridge Com­mu­nity Ra­dio broad­casts on 101.5 FM and of­fers world­wide stream­ing at whcp. org. The sta­tion broad­casts 24/7 and fea­tures more than 160 hours of mu­sic and talk shows, most of which are pro­duced lo­cally. WHCP Ra­dio is a 501(c) 3 non­profit op­er­at­ing un­der an FCC-is­sued li­cense to His­toric Cam­bridge, Inc., also a 501(c) 3. WHCP is the Mid-Shore’s only lo­cal non­com­mer­cial FM sta­tion, and is made pos­si­ble by an all-vol­un­teer staff, mem­ber/lis­tener sup­port and lo­cal un­der writ­ing spon­sors.
