HUR­LOCK — Ernest Clevon Lake Sr., of Hur­lock, MD, passed away on Satur­day, July 2, 2016. He was 65.

He was born on Feb. 25, 1951 in Dorch­ester County, a son of the late James Lake Sr. and Mary But­ler Lake. On July 12, 2003, he mar­ried the for­mer Mar­garet Cephas Lake.

Ernest served in the United States Air Force from June of 1970 to Au­gust of 1971. He was em­ployed as a truck driver for Hab Nabb Truck­ing for a num­ber of years. He was cur­rently em­ployed at Sisco in Po­comoke.

He en­joyed mo­tor­cy­cles, fish­ing and drag rac­ing, es­pe­cially the Del­mar track. Most of all, Ernest loved his fam­ily, es­pe­cially his chil­dren, grand­chil­dren and two beloved dogs, who were like his chil­dren. He was a for­mer mem­ber of the Thunder Guard Mo­tor­cy­cle Club.

He is sur vived by his wife, Mar­garet Cephas Lake of Hur­lock; four chil­dren: Ter­vonda Lake Har­ris and her hus­band Her­bert of North Carolina, Shonda Lake of Seaford, DE, Ernest Lake Jr. and his wife Sharonda of Lau­rel, and Angie Dot­son Cephas and her hus­band Der­rick of Hur­lock; a step son Leon Lofland III of Sal­is­bury; 13 grand­chil­dren; two great-grand­chil­dren; three brothers: Thomas Lake, Clay­ton Lake and Richard Lake and his wife El­iz­a­beth; three sis­ters: Doris Palmer and her hus­band Leonard, Pa­tri­cia Lake, and Mar­ian Jones, as well as sev­eral nieces, neph­ews, cousins and special friends.

Be­sides his par­ents, he is pre­ceded in death by a son, Mar­cus Lake.

Fu­neral Ser­vices was held on Satur­day, July 9, at the Great Mt. Zion Pen­te­costal Ho­li­ness Church, with Pas­tor Wanda Lake and Rev­erend Ch­ester Friend of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment took place on Mon­day, July 11, at the East­ern Shore Vet­er­ans Ceme­tery in Hur­lock.
