Breeze 18U Bren­ton team wins in extra in­nings

SAL­IS­BURY — The Bay­side Breeze 18U Bren­ton won a dra­matic 11-in­ning game 7-6 in its first round game against the Parkville Thun­der Thurs­day, July 28, in the USSSA 18 Open World Se­ries in Ocean City and Sal­is­bury. The Breeze went 0-2-1 in pool play and 1-2 in bracket play. In Wed­nes­day’s sec­ond game against QN Comets, the Breeze trailed 4-2, but came back for the tie. Catcher Ryan Fi­nazzo made a div­ing tag to save a run. Pitcher Brea Bishop struck out seven, and al­lowed only two base run­ners in the fi­nal four in­nings. Fi­nazzo scored on a Mor­gan Dodge RBI dou­ble in the fifth to make it 4-3. She drove in Bishop with an RBI sin­gle in the sixth to tie the game.
