CAM­BRIDGE — Hen­ri­etta F. Day­ton, 90, of Cam­bridge, passed away on Sun­day, July 31, 2016, at her home with her fam­ily by her side. She was born in Stevensville on Oct. 21, 1925, and was a daugh­ter of the late John Wil­liam Fox and Cather­ine Grimes Fox.

Mrs. Day­ton at­tended schools in Den­ton. On July 4, 1947, she mar­ried Ed­win Lee Day­ton, who passed away on Feb. 4, 1994. She was em­ployed with Rob Roy Shirt Fac­tory for 20 years. In 1968, Mrs. Day­ton owned and op­er­ated Day­ton’s at the Point Restau­rant un­til she re­tired in 2007. She en­joyed Bingo. Mrs. Day­ton was a mem­ber of the Amer­i­can Legion Aux­il­iary Dorch­ester Unit 91.

She is sur­vived by a daugh­ter, Phyl­lis Creighton and hus­band Teddy of Cam­bridge; a son, Ed­win L. Day­ton Jr.; and spe­cial friend, Brenda Faust of Cam­bridge; daugh­ter-in­law, Lil­lian Lee Day­ton; six grand­chil­dren: Ed­win L. Day­ton III, Mary Cather­ine Sears, Frances Lee Day­ton, Lynn Creighton, Billy El­liott and Davis El­liott Jr.; nu­mer­ous great grand­chil­dren; four sis­ters: El­iz­a­beth Collins, Ernes­tine Blood­sworth (Cur­tis), Mary Jane Meekins, and Pa­tri­cia Travers (Petey); and nu­mer­ous nieces and neph­ews. Be­sides her par­ents and her hus­band, she is pre­ceded in death by three brothers: Clarence H. Fox, Sa­muel Fox and John Fox; three sis­ters: Grace McGee, Loretta Perry and Jean Ross.

Pall­bear­ers will be Ed­win L. Day­ton III, Ja­cob Day­ton, Garry Bro­hawn Jr., Shane Sat­ter­field, Daniel Smack and Scott Fitzhugh.

A funeral ser­vice will be held 11:30 a.m. Mon­day, Aug. 8, at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A., with Rev. Paul Dor­man of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment will fol­low at the Mary­land Vet­er­ans Ceme­tery. Fam­ily will re­ceive friends on Sun­day evening from 4 to 6 p.m. and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Mon­day.
