West End Citizens Association hosts Saturday “One Hour Walking Tour of Historic High Street” in Cambridge. Tours will continue each Saturday (weather permitting) through Saturday, Oct. 29. Adult Bible Class
The Salvation Army, 200 Washington Street, would like to invite the public to participate in the Adult Bible Class held each Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. Classes involve singing hymns, prayer and a Bible lesson, often with guest speakers and special music. Coffee and pastries are offered. Children’s classes are also available, and a worship service follows at 11 a.m.

American Legion Post 91 in Cambridge is having a fundraiser at the VFW Post 7460, Glasgow Street in Cambridge at 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20. Pit Beef Lunch
The Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 91 will hold a Pit Beef Lunch fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25 at the corner of Route 50 and Maryland Avenue. Lunch will cost $8 and includes a pit beef sandwich, chips, and a drink. Delivery will be available to businesses placing 4 or more orders in advance. The proceeds will benefit the Ladies Auxiliary whose coffers have suffered due to the recent fire at Post 91. The group uses their funds to provide community programs. Wye River Upper School, at 316 S. Commerce St. in Centreville, announced Dr. Vincent Culotta, author and president of Neuro Behavioral Associates will make a presentation on Social Media and Video Games: A B rain Perspective at 7 p.m. Aug. 25 at Wye River Upper School. Culotta will explore the impact of social media and video games among children and teens from a neuroscience perspective. Culotta also will evaluate a number of peer reviewed studies addressing video game use, functional changes in the brain during video game use, the relationship of video game use to reallife violence, issues of desensitization to violence and the specific impact of gaming upon children and adolescents with ADHD.
