CAM­BRIDGE — Robert E. Kane, 58, died Thurs­day, Aug. 18, 2016, at The Pines-Ge­n­e­sis Health Care in Eas­ton, MD. He was born in Cam­bridge, MD on Nov. 1, 1957. He was the son of the late Gertrude Stan­ley Kane and the late Daniel L. Stan­ley.

Mr. Kane was ed­u­cated in Dorch­ester County, Mary­land Pub­lic Schools. He grad­u­ated from Cam­bridge South Dorch­ester High School where his class was the first to grad­u­ate from the brand new school, the class of 1977. Af­ter high school, Robert joined the United States Ma­rine Corps for a short pe­riod of time and re­turned home and started a ca­reer with Cold­wa­ter Seafood and then later on in his life Robert worked for Al­lens’ Fam­ily Food un­til his health be­gan to fail.

He is sur­vived by his sib­lings: Tom­mie Kane, Car­los Kane (Donna), Carl­ton Kane, all of Cam­bridge; James Stan­ley (Luisa) of Eas­ton; Daniel Stan­ley Jr. and Maria Stan­ley, both of Bal­ti­more; and Benita Stan­ley of Texas. He leaves be­hind a spe­cial niece, Shir­lene Travers of Cam­bridge, and two spe­cial friends who were like broth­ers: Jimmy and Cruz from Cam­bridge. He also leaves his nieces: Chante Travers Hol­land (Eric) of Wal­dolf, MD; Sa­man­tha Kane Bat­tle of Rocky Moun­tain, NC; Ty­wana Crop­per Green (Ter­rence), Cam­bridge; neph­ews: Larry Kane, Cum­ber­land, MD; Patrick Kane of Cam­bridge; Don­trell Hol­i­day and Travis Kane, both of Federalsburg, MD; three aunts: Rachel Miller, Mardela Opher and Clara Brisco, all of Cam­bridge; two un­cles: Harold Stan­ley (Elsie) of Church Creek and Wal­ter Stan­ley (Joan) of Bal­ti­more; and a great aunt, Bertha Mack of Cam­bridge; and a host of great nieces, great neph­ews, cousins and friends. In ad­di­tion to his par­ents, he was pre­ceded in death by one brother, Nathaniel “Buster” Kane; and four sis­ters: Chris­tinia E. Jones, Lomona Stan­ley, Tanya A. Mick­ens and Pa­tri­cia Ja­cobs.
