Robert E. Kane
CAMBRIDGE — Robert E. Kane, 58, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at The Pines-Genesis Health Care in Easton, MD. He was born in Cambridge, MD on Nov. 1, 1957. He was the son of the late Gertrude Stanley Kane and the late Daniel L. Stanley.
Mr. Kane was educated in Dorchester County, Maryland Public Schools. He graduated from Cambridge South Dorchester High School where his class was the first to graduate from the brand new school, the class of 1977. After high school, Robert joined the United States Marine Corps for a short period of time and returned home and started a career with Coldwater Seafood and then later on in his life Robert worked for Allens’ Family Food until his health began to fail.
He is survived by his siblings: Tommie Kane, Carlos Kane (Donna), Carlton Kane, all of Cambridge; James Stanley (Luisa) of Easton; Daniel Stanley Jr. and Maria Stanley, both of Baltimore; and Benita Stanley of Texas. He leaves behind a special niece, Shirlene Travers of Cambridge, and two special friends who were like brothers: Jimmy and Cruz from Cambridge. He also leaves his nieces: Chante Travers Holland (Eric) of Waldolf, MD; Samantha Kane Battle of Rocky Mountain, NC; Tywana Cropper Green (Terrence), Cambridge; nephews: Larry Kane, Cumberland, MD; Patrick Kane of Cambridge; Dontrell Holiday and Travis Kane, both of Federalsburg, MD; three aunts: Rachel Miller, Mardela Opher and Clara Brisco, all of Cambridge; two uncles: Harold Stanley (Elsie) of Church Creek and Walter Stanley (Joan) of Baltimore; and a great aunt, Bertha Mack of Cambridge; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Nathaniel “Buster” Kane; and four sisters: Christinia E. Jones, Lomona Stanley, Tanya A. Mickens and Patricia Jacobs.
