CAM­BRIDGE — Bar­bara E. Adams, 80, of Cam­bridge, MD, passed away on Wed­nes­day, Aug. 24, 2016, at her home with her fam­ily by her side. She was born in Sal­is­bury on Feb. 29, 1936, and was a daugh­ter of the late Richard and Pearl Davis McDow­ell.

She at­tended schools in Eas­ton and in Cam- bridge. On Nov. 21, 1952, she mar­ried Harold L. Adams, who passed away on Aug. 1, 1990. As a teenager, she worked at Day­ton’s Restau­rant and later worked and re­tired from Del Monte, formerly named Chun King.

Mrs. Adams en­joyed crossword puz­zles, domi­noes and read­ing. Mrs. Adams also would visit her daugh­ter Shelly at Ch­e­sa­peake Woods Cen­ter and she also took care of a spe­cial friend Lind­say Grieves. She was a mem­ber of Souls Har­bor Church of God, and a past mem­ber of the Cam­bridge Moose Lodge.

She is sur­vived by three daugh­ters: Sharon L. Spear and hus­band Mike of Cam­bridge, Shelly L. Lan­don of Cam­bridge, and Su­san L. Shorter of Cam­bridge; four grand­chil­dren: Mary Ellen Hill and hus­band JD, Michelle Price and hus­band Chris, Adam Spear and BJ Shorter and wife Jenny; nine great grand­chil­dren; two great-great grand­chil­dren; two sis­ters: Martha Rayne of Mil­ford, DE, and Vi­vian L. Owens of Cam­bridge; and sev­eral nieces. Be­sides her hus­band, Mrs. Adams is pre­ceded in death by a granddaughter, Jamie Ellis; a sis­ter, Dorothy Lloyd; and two neph­ews, Wil­liam Scott and Sonny Lloyd.

A cel­e­bra­tion of life was held on Tues­day, Aug. 30, at Souls Har­bor Church of God, with Rev. Roy Collins of­fi­ci­at­ing.
