WECA Historic Tours
West End Citizens Association hosts Saturday “One Hour Walking Tour of Historic High Street” in Cambridge. Tours will continue each Saturday (weather permitting) through Saturday, Oct. 29. Meet your Colonial costumed tour guide at 11 a.m. on Long Wharf at the foot of High Street every Saturday. Reservations are not necessary, but appreciated. High Street is the oldest street in the City of Cambridge first named in 1706.
Hurlock American Legion Seafood Dinner

Veterans and Heroes Recognition
Dorchester County’s 18th annual Veterans and Heroes Recognition Day will be held at the East New Market Volunteer Fire Department, 4020 East New Market-Hurlock Rd, East New Market on Sept. 10. Doors open at 10 a.m. Memorial service will begin at 11 a.m., followed by USO-Style show of local talent, free book, coffee and donuts for all vets attending. Bring your relative’s military photo for a copy to be added to the Wall of Heroes. Free admission and parking.

Waugh Chapel UMC New Jersey Day
Waugh Gospel Choir of Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church, 425 High St., is sponsoring its annual New Jersey Day beginning at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10. Rev. Clarence Bentley of Haven United Methodist Church in Quinton, New Jersey will be the guest pastor. Rev. Bentley will be accompanied by his congregation, members of Mt. Hoopers Island Volunteer Fire Co. Watermen’s Rodeo
The Hoopers Island Volunteer Fire Company will host its annual Watermen’s Rodeo Boat Docking contest beginning at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11. Admission is free. It will be held at the P. L. Jones Marina and Boatyard on Old House Point Road, Fishing Creek. Watermen compete against each other to be the fastest to back their boat into a slip and tie it up. Prizes and awards go to the winners in many different categories. There will also be t-shirts for sale, multiple raffles, and great food. No coolers or drinks allowed.
