FED­ER­ALS­BURG — Myra Mae Truitt, of Fed­er­als­burg, MD, passed away on Fri­day, Sept. 30, 2016 at her home. She was 78.

She was born on Feb. 22, 1938, a daugh­ter of the late Al­ton Hoff­man Sr. and Priscilla Thomas. She is pre­ceded in death by her hus­band Louis Truitt.

Myra was formerly at the sewing em­ployed fac­tory in Hur­lock and later as a book­keeper for the Fed­er­als­burg Fuel and Tri-Gas and Oil. She at­tended Seaford Se­nior Cen­ter, where she en­joyed help­ing oth­ers. Some of her fa­vorite pas­times in­clude trav­el­ing, quilt­ing, read­ing, bowl­ing, and play­ing mu­sic. She was an avid base­ball fan es­pe­cially of the Del­marva Shore­birds. Myra was a past mem­ber of the Fed­er­als­burg VFW Post #5246 Ladies Aux­il­liary and the Hur­lock Amer­i­can Le­gion. She was also a mem­ber of the Wes­ley United Methodist Church, where she was ac­tive in the church choir.

She is sur­vived by three chil­dren: Deb­o­rah Lar­ri­more and her hus­band John of Hur­lock; An­thony Truitt and his wife Jackie of Hur­lock; and Cindy McPhail and her hus­band Mike of Fed­er­als­burg; eight grand­chil­dren: Crys­tal Lar­ri­more, Holly Lar­ri­more, Me­gan Tem­ple, Candice Carouge, Bran­don Truitt, Ben Parks, Stephanie Tull, and Josh McPhail; 11 great grand­chil­dren: Ali­son Whit­man, Gavin Whit­man, El­lie Nel­son, Is­abelle Nel­son, Blake Macon, Eli Tem­ple, Kae­lyn Parks, Nick Parks, Ran­dall Parks, Avery Tull, and Kor­rine Tull; one brother, Al­ton Hoff­man Jr. and his wife Jean, of Rhodes­dale; as well as several nieces and neph­ews.

Be­sides her hus­band and par­ents, she is pre­ceded in death by a brother, Larry Hoff­man.

Fu­neral Ser­vices were held on Wed­nes­day, Oct. 5, at the Framp­tom Fu­neral Home in Fed­er­als­burg, with the Rev­erend Kevin Gille­spie of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment fol­lowed at Hill­crest Ceme­ter y.
