Myra Mae Truitt
FEDERALSBURG — Myra Mae Truitt, of Federalsburg, MD, passed away on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016 at her home. She was 78.
She was born on Feb. 22, 1938, a daughter of the late Alton Hoffman Sr. and Priscilla Thomas. She is preceded in death by her husband Louis Truitt.
Myra was formerly at the sewing employed factory in Hurlock and later as a bookkeeper for the Federalsburg Fuel and Tri-Gas and Oil. She attended Seaford Senior Center, where she enjoyed helping others. Some of her favorite pastimes include traveling, quilting, reading, bowling, and playing music. She was an avid baseball fan especially of the Delmarva Shorebirds. Myra was a past member of the Federalsburg VFW Post #5246 Ladies Auxilliary and the Hurlock American Legion. She was also a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church, where she was active in the church choir.
She is survived by three children: Deborah Larrimore and her husband John of Hurlock; Anthony Truitt and his wife Jackie of Hurlock; and Cindy McPhail and her husband Mike of Federalsburg; eight grandchildren: Crystal Larrimore, Holly Larrimore, Megan Temple, Candice Carouge, Brandon Truitt, Ben Parks, Stephanie Tull, and Josh McPhail; 11 great grandchildren: Alison Whitman, Gavin Whitman, Ellie Nelson, Isabelle Nelson, Blake Macon, Eli Temple, Kaelyn Parks, Nick Parks, Randall Parks, Avery Tull, and Korrine Tull; one brother, Alton Hoffman Jr. and his wife Jean, of Rhodesdale; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Larry Hoffman.
Funeral Services were held on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg, with the Reverend Kevin Gillespie officiating. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemeter y.
