CAM­BRIDGE — A sail­ing train­ing ses­sion will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tues­day, Oct. 11, on the skip­jack Nathan of

Dorch­ester at Long Wharf in Cam­bridge. The cap­tain and crew will pro­vide in­for­ma­tion about the boat and vol­un­teer op­por­tu­ni­ties.

Nathan of Dorch­ester is a com­mer­cial pas­sen­ger-car­ry­ing sail­ing ves­sel with a vol­un­teer crew, and is com­manded by a pro­fes­sional Coast Guard li­censed cap­tain. The non­profit Dorch­ester Skip­jack Com­mit­tee owns, pre­serves and op­er­ates

Nathan of Dorch­ester to pro­mote Cam­bridge and Dorch­ester County’s mar­itime her­itage and tourism by of­fer­ing ed­u­ca­tional ex­pe­ri­ences on an au­then­tic Ch­e­sa­peake Bay sail­ing ves­sel.
