CAM­BRIDGE — Barbara Faye Web­ster Collins, 85, of Cam­bridge, MD, passed away on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 10, 2016 at her home with her fam­ily by her side. She was born in Cam­bridge on Aug. 10, 1931 and was a daugh­ter of the late Ce­cil G. Web­ster and Car­rie Lyons Web­ster.

She grad­u­ated from Cam­bridge High School class of 1948. Mrs. Collins re­ceived her Bach­e­lors of Sci­ence in Ed­u­ca­tion in 1952 from Sal­is­bury State Teach­ers Col­lege. In 1976, she re­ceived her Mas­ter of Arts in Ed­u­ca­tion from George Washington Univer­sity. On Aug. 22, 1953, she mar­ried Mau­rice M. Collins, who passed away on Dec. 21, 2003. From 1953 to 1971, Mrs. Collins was an ele­men­tary teacher, from 1971 to 1989, she was vice principal/ principal in Dorch­ester County, in­clud­ing principal of Sum­mer Mi­grant Pro­gram ages birth through adult. In 1994 to 2003, she was at Sal­is­bury State Univer­sity as a su­per­vi­sor of teach­ers in­terns and from 2000 to 2001, Mrs. Collins was a pro­fes­sional de­vel­op­ment school Li­ai­son with Chop­tank Ele­men­tary School and Sal­is­bury State Univer­sity, in­cludes su­per­vis­ing four teacher in­terns and con­duct­ing a seminar ELED 411.

Mrs. Collins en­joyed read­ing and be­ing with her grand­chil­dren and great grand­chil­dren. She was a mem­ber of Zion United Methodist Church, Dorch­ester Cen­ter of the Arts, Dorch­ester Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal Aux­il­iary, Dorch­ester County Re­tired Teach­ers As­so­ci­a­tion and Mary­land Re­tired Teach­ers As­so­ci­a­tion.

She is sur­vived by her son, Wil­liam Michael Collins and wife Gail of Cam­bridge; and a daugh­ter Pa­tri­cia Collins Mor­gan of Sal­is­bury; five grand­chil­dren: Kate Glover Price and hus­band Dean; Jake Glover and wife Heather; Will Mor­gan IV; Me­gan Collins Daniels and hus­band Ryan; and Jodi Wind­sor Kindt and hus­band Doug; and eight great grand­chil­dren.

Pall­bear­ers will be Jake Glover, Ryan Daniels, Dean Price, Will Mor­gan IV, Doug Kindt and John Bart­man.

A funeral ser­vice will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thurs­day, Oct. 13, at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cam­bridge, with Rev. Wil­liam Davis of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment will fol­low at the Mary­land Eastern Shore Vet­er­ans Ceme­tery. Fam­ily will re­ceive friends one hour prior to the ser­vice.
