CAM­BRIDGE — Ethel C. Dean, 96, of Cam­bridge, MD, passed away on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 17, 2016 at her home. She was born in North Carolina on March 2, 1920 and was a daugh­ter of the late Andrew and Hat­tie Proc­tor Cor­rell.

Mrs. Dean grad­u­ated from high school in North Carolina. She was first mar­ried on Jan. 28, 1944 to James Ervin Cooper, who passed away on March 25, 1963. On Aug. 19, 1966, she mar­ried Austin W. “Aukie” Dean, who passed away on April 24, 2001.

Mrs. Dean worked for the tele­phone com­pany and later was em­ployed at Rob Roy as a floor su­per­vi­sor and re­tired in April 1983. She en­joyed sewing and go­ing on Hol­loway Bus Tours. Mrs. Dean was a mem­ber of Zion United Methodist Church and a mem­ber of the Good Timers.

She is sur­vived by her ex­tended fam­ily: Kitty Jones; Becky (Mark) Den­nis; Eric Ma­hon (Rachel); Brian Ma­hon (Kel­lie) and their daugh­ter Caro­line; Kane Den­nis (Ryan); Brad Den­nis; Brenda Knowles (Wayne); Made­line Parker; and nu­mer­ous nieces and neph­ews. Be­sides her par­ents, Mrs. Dean is pre­ceded in death by sev­eral broth­ers and sis­ters.

A fu­neral ser­vice will be held on Mon­day, Oc­to­ber 24, 10 a.m. at Thomas Fu­neral Home, P.A. in Cam­bridge, with Rev. Wil­liam Davis of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment will fol­low at Dorch­ester Me­mo­rial Park.

In lieu of flow­ers, me­mo­rial con­tri­bu­tions can be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 612 Lo­cust St., Cam­bridge, MD 21613.
