MADI­SON — Bar­bara E. Thomp­son, 80, of Madi­son, MD, passed away on Tuesday, Oc­to­ber 11, 2016 at her home, with her fam­ily by her side. She was born in Bal­ti­more on Oct. 5, 1936 and was a daugh­ter of the late Howard “Boh” Brooks and Emma Miller Brooks.

Mrs. Thomp­son grad­u­ated from Catholic High School in Bal­ti­more class of 1954. On Dec. 2, 1982, she mar­ried Her­bert F. “Pee­wee” Thomp­son who passed away on Sept. 16, 2016. She re­tired from Bell At­lantic Phone Com­pany.

Mrs. Thomp­son en­joyed read­ing, paint­ing, karaoke, and spend­ing time with fam­ily and friends. She was a mem­ber of the Moose Lodge.

She is sur­vived by her god chil­dren: Heather Nash and hus­band Chris of Madi­son; Sa­man­tha Barshinger and hus­band Tim of Manch­ester, MD; and sev­eral aunts and cousins. Mrs. Thomp­son is also sur­vived by her beloved dog Rex. Be­sides her par­ents and her hus­band, Mrs. Thomp­son is pre­ceded in death by a god­son, Scott Zem­bas.

A fu­neral ser­vice will be held on Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 22, 2 p.m. at Thomas Fu­neral Home, P.A. in Cam­bridge, with Rev. Mary Ann Far­nell of­fi­ci­at­ing. In­ter­ment will fol­low at Old Trin­ity Church­yard. Fam­ily will re­ceive friends one hour prior to the ser­vice.

In lieu of flow­ers, me­mo­rial con­tri­bu­tions can be made to St. Jude Chil­dren’s Hospi­tal, 501 St. Jude Place, Mem­phis, TN 38105.
