Local violence by Trump followers

Dorchester Star - - Regional -

In a recent letter, Andrew Shaw presumed to know more about the destruction of Frank Lawlor’s Hillary Clinton sign than Frank himself does. Shaw claims it had to be the wind and rot on the sign that caused it, and not Donald Trump’s Hillary-hating-forces. He claims Frank “’found’ villains where none exist.”

I know Frank Lawlor, and have found him to be a scrupulously honest and honorable man. I’m much more inclined to believe him than someone who occasionally drives by his driveway, especially given that he devoted the rest of his letter to a hateful rant against Secretary Clinton.

I wonder if Mr. Shaw would think I “found villains where none exist” when two hatefilled Donald Trump thugs poured diesel fuel all over my lawn and set it on fire in a violent act of arson to destroy my Clinton/Kaine and Chris Van Hollen signs on a windy night. My neighbor saw their pickup stop and the occupants get out and torch my property. Hopefully the Sheriff has already cuffed them and led them away.

It’s such a shame and extremely dangerous that Donald Trump has incited his rabid followers to commit acts of hate and violence on his behalf. I hope Secretary Clinton destroys him with a landslide victory on November 8th to make Trumpism disappear from our country once and for all. MIKE BROWN Cambridge
