Choptank students participate in Walk to School Day
CAMBRIDGE — On Thursday, Oct. 6, Choptank Elementary School had about 50 students, staff and parents participate in National Walk to School Day.
This event promotes physical activity, pedestrian safety, and an awareness of the “walkability” of our community.
Physical education teacher Holly Edwards met a group of students at Greenwood Avenue and picked up students along the way to Mace’s Lane.
Another group of students was met at Cambridge Commons by Principal Emma Pinkett, Assistant Principal Jamie Bouchelle, secondgrade teachers Emma Brant and Alleen Messick, firstgrade teacher Lauren Howell, and ESOL teacher John Kahl.
Parents joined with their students making this event a fun family activity as well. Every student who participated in the Walk will receive a participation certificate.
