Cambridge-Dorchester County Christmas Parade seeks donations
CAMBRIDGE — The 68th annual Cambridge-Dorchester County Christmas Parade committee is gearing up for the holiday season. With less than 4 weeks to event kickoff, the event organizers are seeking donors and financial support. The parade will take place Saturday, Dec. 3.
The parade is funded solely through community donations and is put on by a volunteer-only committee. This year’s parade theme, “A Rock ‘n’ Roll Christmas,” will embrace the nickname of Cambridge, “Groove City.” Maces Lane Middle School will be the event’s host band.
Those who are interested may illustrate the theme of the parade for the event.
Businesses that supported the event last year are displayed on the event website at www.christmasparade.org. The event needs continued support, however, and event organizers are seeking community donations.
Donation forms are available on the event website, located on the donors page, as well as the home page. Donations may be mailed to: CDCCP Treasurer, P.O. Box 1083, Cambridge, Md. 21613.
Each donor or sponsor will be listed with a link on the event webpage, and will be acknowledged during the radio broadcast the evening of the parade. WHCP, Cambridge Community Radio will broadcast during the event. Donors also will be announced from the reviewing stand.
Event organizers also are seeking entries for the parade. Entries are currently being accepted online by visiting the event website and clicking the “Click Here To Enter” tab. Entrants also may download the form from the website and mail it to the above address.
