Salvation Army Adult Bible Class Sundays
The Salvation Army, 200 Washington Street, would like to invite the public to participate in the Adult Bible Class held each Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. Classes involve singing hymns, prayer and a Bible lesson, often with guest speakers and special music. Coffee and pastries are offered. Children’s classes are also available, and a worship service follows at 11 a.m.
82nd RFC Train Garden Thru Dec. 30
The 82nd annual Rescue Fire Company Christmas Train Garden is open 6 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday at the old firehouse on Gay Street in Cambridge. This Dorchester holiday tradition also is open 1 to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays in December. Admission is free and refreshments will be sold. WHCP’s Annual Meeting Dec. 1
Join WHCP for its annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1, at the Dorchester County Public Library, meeting room, 303 Gay Street, n Cambridge, for the inside skinny on the Cambridge Community Radio station. There will share a short presentation on accomplishments from the past year, the plans for the year ahead, and station finances. Community comments and questions are always welcome.
Zion UMC Church Soups, Sweets and Treats to Go Dec. 2
Zion UMC Church, 612 Locust St., Cambridge, is having Soups, Sweets and Treats to Go from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Vegetable beef, dry lima and chicken noodle soup will be available for carry out, plus there will be a bake sale and Christmas table with holiday items for sale. Dorchester Swingers Dec. 2
The Dorchester Swingers, a local Square Dance club, will be having its first Friday of the month dance on Friday, Dec. 2, at Maple Elementary school on Egypt Road in Cambridge. The dance runs from 7:30 to 10 p.m. The cost is $7 per guest dancers; and free for members and observers. Come and enjoy the fun and the free snacks. This kind of activity challenges the mind and the body. Workshops are held on Tuesday nights from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at the same location in the Multi-Purpose Room of the school.
