Pleas­ant Day’s Hol­i­day Ben­e­fit Gala set for Dec 1

CAM­BRIDGE — The Fes­ti­val of Wreaths and the Hol­i­day Ben­e­fit Gala is open un­til Wed­nes­day, Dec. 1, and the pub­lic is in­vited to visit, walk around and bid on the wreath of their choice from the 86 wreaths that are de­signed and crafted by artists and pro­fes­sion­als and do­nated to Pleas­ant Day Med­i­cal Adult Day Care.

At 5:30 p.m. Dec. 1, the Fes­ti­val of Wreaths will morph into the Hol­i­day Ben­e­fit Gala, and silent bid­ding on the wreaths will end at 7 p.m. There is no charge to at­tend the gala, and there will be a free shut­tle from the Cam­bridge South Dorch­ester High School park­ing lot.

The Taste of Dorch­ester fin­ger foods will be pro­vided by Dorch­ester restau­rants and cater­ers, and live en­ter­tain­ment. The live auc­tion will be­gin at 7 p.m. with auc­tion­eer Buddy Foxwell.

With more than 40 items, in­clud­ing jew­elry, a bowl­ing party, gift cer­tifi­cates, a 32inch TV, a child’s bi­cy­cle, toys, bushels of crabs, pas­teur­ized crab meat, a Pad­dle and Ped­dle pack­age, a Cen­ter Mar­ket spi­ral ham, a ba­nana cake, a St. Michael’s Win­ery wine tast­ing, Mike Elzey gui­tar les- sons, a framed artist proof of a 1978-79 duck stamp, an adult col­or­ing book pack­age, beauty pack­ages, man­i­cures and a dec­o­rated 4-foot tree.

The wreath will be a live auc­tion item on Dec. 1, auc­tion be­gin­ning at 7 p.m. The at­ten­dees at the Hol­i­day Ben­e­fit Gala can guess the amount of money and the per­son with the clos­est guess will win $25.
