CAM­BRIDGE — Mar­jorie El­iz­a­beth Strehlen, 93, of Cam­bridge, MD, for­merly of Madi­son, MD, died Mon­day morn­ing, De­cem­ber 12, 2016 at Ch­e­sa­peake Woods Cen­ter, Cam­bridge.

Born on May 8, 1923 in Bal­ti­more City, MD, she was a daugh­ter of the late Frank Wil­liams and Mar­garet Schul Wil­liams.

On Sept. 19, 1942, she mar­ried John M. Strehlen Sr., he died on Oc­to­ber 4, 1998.

Mrs. Strehlen was a home­maker. Her hus­band was the owner-op­er­a­tor of Straco Con­trac­tors. She and her hus­band had a sum­mer home in Madi­son for a few years prior to their per­ma­nent move from Bal­ti­more, in the early 1970’s.

Mar­jorie was a mem­ber of Madi­son United Methodist Church.

Sur­viv­ing her is a son, John Michael Strehlen Jr. (Glo­ria) of Madi­son, MD; three daugh­ters, Bar­bara Jones (Robert) of Ch­e­sa­peake, VA; Nancy Creighton (Butch) of Fish­ing Creek, MD; Janet Wheat­ley (Michael) of Cam­bridge, MD; sis­ter, Betty Brad­ford of Bal­ti­more, MD; brother, Jack Wil­liams of Bal­ti­more; four grand­chil­dren; five great-grand­chil­dren; five great-great grand­chil­dren; sev­eral nieces and neph­ews.

Pre­ced­ing her in death, be­sides her par­ents, and

hus­band, was a son Ron­ald (Ron­nie) Strehlen; two broth­ers, Ed­ward Wil­liams and Frank Wil­liams; grand­son, John C. Strehlen, and sis­ter, Marie Strehlen.

The fam­ily would like to ex­tend a sin­cere thank you to the staff at Ch­e­sa­peake Woods Cen­ter for the ex­cel­lent care given to Mar­jorie dur­ing her stay.

A fu­neral ser­vice will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thurs­day, Dec. 15, at New­comb and Collins Fu­neral Home, P.A., Cam­bridge, with Pas­tor Dave Ste­wart of­fi­ci­at­ing.

Burial will fol­low at the Mary­land East­ern Shore Vet­er­ans Ceme­tery, Hur­lock.

A view­ing and vis­i­ta­tion with the fam­ily will be held an hour prior to the ser­vice.

Serv­ing as pall­bear­ers will be Johnny Seward, Joey Neal, Michael Wheat­ley and C. J. Wade.
