Salvation Army Adult Bible Class Sundays
The Salvation Army, 200 Washington Street, would like to invite the public to participate in the Adult Bible Class held each Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. Classes involve singing hymns, prayer and a Bible lesson, often with guest speakers and special music. South Dorchester Folk Museum Local History Lecture Series Feb. 1
The South Dorchester Folk Museum will present an installment of their free local lecture series at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at the Robbins Heritage Center, 1003 Greenway Drive. The topic will be “Bootlegging in Dorchester County,” presented by Sheriff Jim Phillips. He will talk about the history of stills and bootlegging in the county, and expects to bring a typical still to show the audience. He will also talk about his career and the current status of law enforcement in the county.
