Craig’s Drug Store set to mark 150th an­niver­sary

— Craig’s Drug Store will be­gin cel­e­brat­ing its 150th an­niver­sary with a rib­bon cut­ting at 10 a.m. on Wed­nes­day, June 14.

The cel­e­bra­tion will be set up in the park­ing lot next to the drug store at 409 Race Street.

Af­ter cut­ting the rib­bon, a pre­sen­ta­tion of do­na­tions will be made to lo­cal first re­spon­der de­part­ments and the Dorch­ester County Board of Ed­u­ca­tion.

A spe­cial combo lunch will be of­fered, in­clud­ing a grilled hot dog, a small bag of chips, and a soda for just $1.50. Small bags of pop­corn will also be avail­able

for $.25. All pro­ceeds from the sale of food will ben­e­fit the Skip­jack Nathan of Dorch­ester.

The fam­ily has worked dili­gently to pre­serve their his­tory, and many of the an­tique phar­macy ar­ti­facts will be on dis­play in the store. These in­clude an old pre­scrip­tion record book and tools the phar­ma­cists used to fill pre­scrip­tions long ago.
