“It is very re­ward­ing. I’m so proud of Mered­ith be­cause she is able to use soft­ball to ful­fill another dream and that is to be a teacher. She is so great with chil­dren.”

Mered­ith’s coach Clark Har­ri­son said she is a great leader, and all-around player.

“Mered­ith does ev­ery­thing you can ask for on the field,” he said. “She plays great de­fense, hits very well and is a great team­mate.”

North Dorch­ester teacher Cherie Robin­son said Mered­ith ex­cels in the class­room, and will be an out­stand­ing teacher.

“She is won­der­ful. She is go­ing to make an ab­so­lutely mar­velous teacher,” Robin­son said. “There is no doubt about it. She is a nat­u­ral, and I’m re­ally proud of her.”
