Horn Point Lab Tour Tues­days

Horn Point Lab­o­ra­tory in­vites the com­mu­nity to visit the sci­en­tific re­search lab­o­ra­tory. The 90-minute walk­ing tour is free and open to the pub­lic. Learn about the Ch­e­sa­peake Bay, its health and the vi­tal role of Horn Point sci­ence. Grad­u­ate stu­dents will give you a be­hind-the-scenes tour of HPL. You will ex­plore oys­ters in the Atlantic Coast’s largest hatch­ery, phys­i­cal oceanog­ra­phy, coastal re- silience, wa­ter qual­ity, and more. When you ar­rive at Horn Point Lab­o­ra­tory, lo­cated at 2020 Horns Point Road in Cam­bridge, turn onto the cam­pus lane and take the first right to the Coastal Sci­ence Build­ing. Park in the lot and en­ter at vis­i­tor re­cep­tion. Tours are held at 10 a.m. ev­ery Tues­day through the end of Au­gust. Tours are on foot and best suited for chil­dren age 10 and older. Spe­cial tours, in­clud­ing those held on Satur­day, can be ar­ranged with two weeks no­tice, de­pend­ing on avail­abil­ity of tour guides.
