Amer­i­can Le­gion Post 91 Dance

Aug. 17

Amer­i­can Le­gion Post 91 is spon­sor­ing a dance fea­tur­ing the Jones Boys from 8 to 11 p.m. Fri­day, Aug. 17. It will be held in the back hall of the Ra­di­ance Drive lo­ca­tion, with a $5 cover charge. Come out and help cel­e­brate the Jones Boys re­turn to the newly ren­o­vated Le­gion.

First Bap­tist Church Ladies Prayer Break­fast

Aug. 18

First Bap­tist Church Cam­bridge will host the monthly Ladies Prayer Break­fast at 8 a.m. Aug. 18. Bev El­liott will lead the pro­gram en­ti­tled “Find­ing Your Joy.” There will be praise mu­sic by James El­liott. and grace will be sung by Claire Boz­man. An­gela Ge­bert will lead in a spe­cial prayer time for chil­dren and ed­u­ca­tors as they head back to school. The church is lo­cated at 501 Glen­burn Av­enue. Bethel AME Church Va­ca­tion Bi­ble School

Bethel AME Church in Cam­bridge will host Va­ca­tion Bi­ble School from Aug. 20 to Aug. 23. The pro­gram will be from 6 to 8 p.m. each night. The theme is “Glow for Je­sus Let Your Light Shine.” Pre-school stu­dents to adults are in­vited. CAN Pic­nic

The Cam­bridge As­so­ci­a­tion of Neigh­bor­hoods non­profit or­ga­ni­za­tion will have a com­mu­nity pic­nic from noon to 4 p.m. Sun­day, Aug. 26, at Long Wharf Park in Cam­bridge. Bring your own food or food truck for bar­be­cue. Free shaved ice to the first 100 peo­ple. Please bring chairs, blan­kets or canopies. En­ter­tain­ment will be pro­vided.

Richard­son Mar­itime Mu­seum Ship Visit

Sept. 8-9

The Richard­son Mar­itime Mu­seum is sched­uled to wel­come the Mary­land Dove to Cam­bridge. The mu­seum’s own Jim Richard­son built the tall ship in 1978. It serves as St. Mary’s City float­ing am­bas­sador. The mu­seum is cel­e­brat­ing the ship’s 40th an­niver­sary with the visit to the East­ern Shore. The planks will be down from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Satur­day, Sept. 8, and Sun­day, Sept. 9. Tours of the ship will be open to the pub­lic. Do­na­tions will be ac­cepted.
