FOR NEARLY HALF A CENTURY, THE CELEBRATED ACCEL BRAND HAS POWERED THE BIGGEST NAMES IN DRAG RACING HISTORY: TOP FUEL LEGENDS “BIG DADDY” DON GARLITS AND SHIRLEY MULDOWNEY, PRO STOCK GREATS BOB GLIDDEN, BILL “GRUMPY” JENKINS AND WARREN JOHNSON, AND COUNTLESS OTHER STARS OF THE QUARTER-MILE. ACCEL remains at the forefront of ignition technology, recently bolstering its already comprehensive line of powerful coil-on-plug (COP) SuperCoils for a broad cross-section of Ford applications.

Coyote 5.0L, modular two-valve, threevalve, even EcoBoost, ACCEL has SuperCoils for them all. “They’re a great value, especially for Ford Mod motors,” said Holley Director of Product Management, Jay McFarland.

“You can’t get coils from Ford without paying an arm and a leg, and these are a direct-replacement, bolt-on piece for highperformance applications and daily drivers, and just a great budget-minded replacement all around. The EcoBoost coils in particular really restore the spark your engine had when it was new.”

High-output ACCEL SuperCoils deliver as much as 15% more energy than factory coils and feature highly specialized siliconemagnetic steel cores, optimized windings, pinpoint resistance and engineered turn ratios that unleash an engine’s maximum power potential. They’re also OBD-IIcompatible and won’t trip an engine code. These reliable, highly conductive direct-plug replacement coils are available individually or in multi-packs of four, six or eight, and come not only in classic ACCEL yellow, but also in blue and black.

ACCEL’s all-new SuperBox CD ignition is the perfect intersection of performance and economy. Contained in a sleek, compact black aluminum case that looks right at home in any engine compartment, it fires a series of multiple sparks that last for 20 degrees of crankshaft rotation at low rpm. For considerably less than competing brands, this modern capacitive-discharge ignition creates more efficient combustion of the air/fuel mixture, snappy throttle response, faster startups and a smoother, more consistent idle.

“It’s hard to beat, especially for the price,” McFarland said. “It’s compact, one of the smallest, most reliable CD ignitions there is, in a solid black that gives it a classy look. It doesn’t stand out in the engine compartment— it really blends in—and it comes with a built-in rev limiter that’s easy to adjust.”

The innovative ACCEL CD ignition delivers 43,000 volts and easily connects to points, amplifiers and magnetic-pickup distributors. Compatible with four-, six- and eight-cylinder applications, it maximizes spark energy, especially when used in conjunction with powerful ACCEL SuperCoils. The rev-limiter is adjustable in 100-rpm increments, and it connects to almost any distributor. It also offers plug-and-play installation with available accessory harnesses.

ACCEL Extreme 9000 ceramic boot wire sets eliminate a problem that’s plagued hot-rodders for years: burnt plug-wire boots. Available in three different configurations—straight, 90-degree and 135-degree— they’re ideal for tight spaces and cramped engine bays. “They really reduce all the headaches that come with silicone boots,” McFarland said. “They’re not going to burn or singe or arc to the headers—ever.”

The plug boots themselves withstand temperatures up to 2,000°F, their ceramic coating acting as a heat mirror that reflects infrared energy and heat away from the boot. Specially designed ultra-hightemperature 8mm FerroSpiral core double-silicone wires deliver maximum energy to the spark plugs and provide built-in RFI/

EMI suppression for streetdriven vehicles. They’re rated at 600°F, have 500-Ohms-ft resistance and feature stainlesssteel terminals.

Engineered to resist peeling and flaking, ACCEL Extreme 9000 ceramic boot wire sets are custom-fit to factory lengths for popular big-block Chevy, smallblock Chevy and LS engines, and are also available in a universal package compatible with numerous other applications. “If you’re running headers and space is tight, these ceramic boots will cure a lot of problems,” McFarland said. “Just put ’em on and forget about them.”

All-new EcoBoost SuperCoils are ODB-II-compatible and feature highly specialized siliconemagnetic steel cores, optimized windings, proper resistance and specially engineered turn ratios.

Extreme 9000 ceramic boot wire sets make burnt plug-wire boots a thing of the past. They withstand temperatures up to 2,000°F and are available in three different configurations: straight, 90 degree and 135 degree.

SuperBox CD ignitions include a stealthy black case and create more efficient combustion of the air/fuel mixture for considerably less money than competing brands.
