AC­CEL: Con­tin­u­ing to Pro­vide Su­pe­rior Ig­ni­tion Tech­nol­ogy

AC­CEL re­mains at the fore­front of ig­ni­tion tech­nol­ogy, re­cently bol­ster­ing its al­ready com­pre­hen­sive line of pow­er­ful coil-on-plug (COP) Su­perCoils for a broad cross-sec­tion of Ford ap­pli­ca­tions.

Coy­ote 5.0L, mod­u­lar two-valve, three­valve, even EcoBoost, AC­CEL has Su­perCoils for them all. “They’re a great value, es­pe­cially for Ford Mod mo­tors,” said Hol­ley Di­rec­tor of Prod­uct Man­age­ment, Jay Mc­Far­land.

“You can’t get coils from Ford with­out pay­ing an arm and a leg, and these are a di­rect-re­place­ment, bolt-on piece for high­per­for­mance ap­pli­ca­tions and daily driv­ers, and just a great bud­get-minded re­place­ment all around. The EcoBoost coils in par­tic­u­lar re­ally re­store the spark your en­gine had when it was new.”

High-out­put AC­CEL Su­perCoils de­liver as much as 15% more en­ergy than fac­tory coils and fea­ture highly spe­cial­ized sil­i­cone­mag­netic steel cores, op­ti­mized wind­ings, pin­point re­sis­tance and en­gi­neered turn ra­tios that un­leash an en­gine’s max­i­mum power po­ten­tial. They’re also OBD-II­com­pat­i­ble and won’t trip an en­gine code. These re­li­able, highly con­duc­tive di­rect-plug re­place­ment coils are avail­able in­di­vid­u­ally or in multi-packs of four, six or eight, and come not only in clas­sic AC­CEL yel­low, but also in blue and black.

AC­CEL’s all-new Su­perBox CD ig­ni­tion is the per­fect in­ter­sec­tion of per­for­mance and econ­omy. Con­tained in a sleek, com­pact black alu­minum case that looks right at home in any en­gine com­part­ment, it fires a se­ries of mul­ti­ple sparks that last for 20 de­grees of crank­shaft rotation at low rpm. For con­sid­er­ably less than com­pet­ing brands, this modern ca­pac­i­tive-dis­charge ig­ni­tion cre­ates more ef­fi­cient com­bus­tion of the air/fuel mix­ture, snappy throt­tle re­sponse, faster star­tups and a smoother, more con­sis­tent idle.

The in­no­va­tive AC­CEL CD ig­ni­tion de­liv­ers 43,000 volts and eas­ily con­nects to points, am­pli­fiers and mag­netic-pickup dis­trib­u­tors. Com­pat­i­ble with four-, six- and eight-cylin­der ap­pli­ca­tions, it max­i­mizes spark en­ergy, es­pe­cially when used in con­junc­tion with pow­er­ful AC­CEL Su­perCoils. AC­CEL Ex­treme 9000 ce­ramic boot wire sets elim­i­nate a prob­lem that’s plagued hot-rod­ders for years: burnt plug-wire boots. Avail­able in three dif­fer­ent con­fig­u­ra­tions—straight, 90-de­gree and 135-de­gree— they’re ideal for tight spa­ces and cramped en­gine bays. “They re­ally re­duce all the headaches that come with sil­i­cone boots,” Mc­Far­land said. “They’re not go­ing to burn or singe or arc to the head­ers—ever.”

The plug boots them­selves with­stand tem­per­a­tures up to 2,000°F, their ce­ramic coat­ing act­ing as a heat mir­ror that re­flects in­frared en­ergy and heat away from the boot. Spe­cially de­signed ul­tra-high­tem­per­a­ture 8mm Fer­roSpi­ral core dou­ble-sil­i­cone wires de­liver max­i­mum en­ergy to the spark plugs and pro­vide built-in RFI/

EMI sup­pres­sion for street­driven ve­hi­cles. They’re rated at 600°F, have 500-Ohms-ft re­sis­tance and fea­ture stain­lesssteel ter­mi­nals.

En­gi­neered to re­sist peel­ing and flak­ing, AC­CEL Ex­treme 9000 ce­ramic boot wire sets are cus­tom-fit to fac­tory lengths for pop­u­lar big-block Chevy, small­block Chevy and LS en­gines, and are also avail­able in a uni­ver­sal pack­age com­pat­i­ble with nu­mer­ous other ap­pli­ca­tions. “If you’re run­ning head­ers and space is tight, these ce­ramic boots will cure a lot of prob­lems,” Mc­Far­land said. “Just put ’em on and for­get about them.”
