1968 Gary Holzapfel —who at one time was employed by an aerospace fastener manufacturer— developed some bolts and studs for his racer friends that were a marked improvement over what was available. Competitors like Don Prudhomme proved their effectiveness, which created a demand from other racers. This lead to the founding of Automotive Racing Products, Inc.

ARP has come a long way since then, growing from what was literally a garage workshop to a sprawling manufacturing complex that encompasses seven buildings and some 170,000 square feet. Everything is done in-house (engineering, R&D, forging, heat-treating, machining, finishing, packaging and distribution) in ISO 9001:2008 and

AS9100 registered facilities.

The product line has grown substantially from those first offerings to more than 4,700 fastener kits. New applications are continually being explored.
