Riding Technology from Dr. Hilary Clayton
Vert is an electronic horse head-angle sensor and display developed by USDF gold medalist Dr. Hilary Clayton. The sensor attaches to the headpiece of the bridle at the poll and measures your horse’s head angle in relation to the vertical, then produces a light that changes color according to your horse’s head angle. When the horse’s head moves behind the vertical, the light turns red. When the horse is on the vertical, the light turns green. When the horse is ahead of the vertical, the light turns blue. The sensor is configured with an app and can be calibrated for a variety of horses and appropriate angles. Vert retails for $89. Visit equ.la.
