DTO News From
While living in Spain some years back, i was fortunate enough to watch Spain’s olympian rafael Soto ride and train and share in several joy-filled meals with the Real Escuela CReW IN *eReZ Spain. rafael is a passionate and compassionate human who truly cares about his equine partners and naturally brings a larger-than-life personality to all he does.
dressagetodayonline.com offers videos of several different training sessions with rafael. my absolute favorite happens to be an older piece recorded several years before the importance of safety was wide spread in our industry, and he is sans helmet. in this video at dressagetodayon- line.com/rafael, he emphasizes the use of lateral work to improve connection in the walk and engagement in both the trot and canter. the exercises in this series are geared for Second level through Grand prix, but portions can be applied to all levels of training. this is part 1 of a three-part series. if you’d like to watch them all, we offer a free month at dressagetodayonline.com/S0free to all Dressage Today readers and we hope you’ll make dto your “go-to” for on-the-go learningA
