Re­minder of Ser­vices


Caye Pope, 68, of Smack­over, passed away, Tues­day, July 25, 2017 at UAMS in Lit­tle Rock, AR.

Fu­neral ser­vices will be 2:00 P.M. Mon­day, July 31, 2017, at Young's Chapel with Rev. Bob In­mon of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial will fol­low at Smack­over Ceme­tery un­der the di­rec­tion of Young's Fu­neral Di­rec­tors.


BILLY RAY BEENE Billy Ray Beene, 88, of El Do­rado, AR passed away at his res­i­dence on Thurs­day, July 27, 2017.

Born on June 2, 1929 in El Do­rado, AR; he was the son of Cur­tis Thomas Beene and Ethel Gun­nels Beene.

He re­tired in 1987 as main­te­nance su­per­in­ten­dent for Columbia

Car­bon af­ter

36 years em­ploy­ment.

Af­ter his re­tire- ment he was the owner of In­de­pen­dent Mo­tors and was the owner of sev­eral Cessna air­planes as he loved fly­ing.

Billy was an avid hunter be­long­ing to the Mol­naird Hunt­ing Club. He also en­joyed fish­ing from his cabin on the Oua­chita River at Pop’s place for over 55 years. Billy loved noth­ing more than be­ing with his fam­ily and friends.

Billy was pre­ceded in death by his par­ents; wife, Geneva Sil­ver­tooth Beene; daugh­ter, Jerri Sue Phelps and sis­ter, Sue But­ler Albrit­ton.

Billy is sur­vived by: his daugh­ters, Mary Jane Ellis of El Do­rado, AR, Gaile Ezell (EZ) of El Do­rado, and Tanya Groomes of El Do­rado; son, Tommy Beene of El Do­rado; brothers, J.W. Beene of El Do­rado, AR and Jerry Beene of Hamp­ton, AR; grand­chil­dren, Kisha Faulkner (Shane), Chrissy Jenk­ins, Ron­nie Hol­l­i­day (Sarah), Crys­tal Tucker (Stacy), Matthew Ezell, Joey Hur­ley (Brandy), Brit­tany Ay­cock (Parker), An­gel Waller, Made­line Beene, Melissa Mein­ert, and Ja­cob Phelps; fif­teen great grand­chil­dren with two on the way, and two great­great grand­chil­dren.

Fu­neral ser­vices will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tues­day, Au­gust 1, 2017 at Young’s Chapel with Rev. Kim Nes­bitt of­fi­ci­at­ing. Visi­ta­tion will be­gin at 12:00 P.M. prior to the ser­vice. In­ter­ment will fol­low at Ar­ling­ton Memo­rial Park un­der the di­rec­tion of Young’s Fu­neral Di­rec­tors.
