Junction City knocks off Fouke to improve to 6-0
News-Times Staff JUNCTION CITY - Jaimarious Frazier ran for two scores and Wizdom Brown had a touchdown on offense and defense, as Junction City's junior high team stayed undefeated with a 36-8 win over Fouke on Thursday night.
Frazier opened the scoring in the first quarter with a 40-yard run while also adding the two-point conversion to give the Dragons (6-0) the early lead, but Fouke tied the game later in the period.
The score would remain tied until the third quarter when the Dragons pulled away.
Gabe Richard connected with Brown on a 28-yard touchdown strike to give the Dragons a 14-8 lead.
Then Junction City's defense came up with a big play, as Brown recovered a fumble and returned it three yards for a score that made it 22-8 after Frazier's successful run on the twopoint conversion.
Junction City put the game away in the final stanza with two more scores.
Frazier collected his second rushing touchdown of the game with an 8-yard jaunt, and Jamal Johnson added an 8-yard touchdown run of his own with Chase Wood's run on the two-point conversion making the final margin.
Junction City will play at Smackover next week.
WEST SIDE CHRISTIAN
WINS ON ROAD CAMDEN - West Side Christian's volleyball went on the road and picked up a win in four sets over Victory Christian to close out the regular season on Thursday.
The Lady Warriors won by scores of 25-13, 25-13, 19-25 and 25-22.
Next up for West Side Christian is their district tournament, which begins on October 20.
