The Strong-Huttig School District will utilize virtual instruction today because 62% of faculty and staff members will be being vaccinated against COVID-19 at Medical Center of South Arkansas, SHSD Superintendent Kimberly Thomas said Monday in an email to the News-Times.
Thomas said the opportunity to be vaccinated is open to all SHSD staff and faculty, including substitute teachers.
Buses won’t run today. Students at school today should have received breakfast and lunch for today on Monday.
Students are asked to log on to Buzz and Google Classroom to complete virtual assignments today. The home basketball game scheduled for 5 p.m. this evening will not be affected.
“We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but we are doing what we can to ensure our students, faculty and staff members remain safe during this pandemic,” Thomas said.
On-campus instruction is set to resume Wednesday.
