Electric power at this year’s event

The annual Top Gun Scale Invitational has become the biggest and best scale competition event in the world. While many of the aircraft flown at Frank Tiano’s Paradise Field are gasoline and turbine powered, this year, there were some outstanding electric-powered planes populating the flightline. All sorts of aircraft cut the wet-fuel habit and benefited with a lot of reliability and impressive power. Check out these amazing aircraft and their pilots.

Impossible to tell from the full-size aircraft, Mike Barbee’s Team scale entry Beechcraft King Air makes a down-and-dirty slow-speed pass for the flight judges.

Pilots and spotters on the flightline for the midday airshow.
