If two horses are each heterozy­gous for a dom­i­nant trait, 75 per­cent of their off­spring will in­herit at least one copy of the dom­i­nant gene and will ex­press the trait, while 25 per­cent will in­herit two non­dom­i­nant ver­sions of the gene and not ex­press the trait.
