LOREN EU­GENE RODONI

Aug. 2, 1932 – Aug. 2, 2015

Long­time res­i­dent of Santa Cruz, CA, Loren was born in Escalon, CA to Laura and Gabriel Rodoni and passed away at home on his 83rd birth­day. He served in the US Navy at Fort Mar­ion dur­ing the Korean War, and af­ter­ward came to Santa Cruz where he met his wife and raised his fam­ily. He worked in con­struc­tion as an op­er­at­ing engi­neer for over 50 years.

He is sur­vived by his wife of 59 years, Florence, daugh­ters Martha (Ron) Dent, Mon­ica Rodoni, and sons, Dan Rodoni and Dale (Sandi) Rodoni, and his two grand­chil­dren, Christo­pher (Ni­cole) Mor­gan and Jenna Rodoni. Loren is pre­ceded in death by his par­ents, his sis­ter, Lorena Saretti and brother, Elmer Rodoni.

WIL­LIAM “DEAN” JERNI­GAN

Aug. 28, 1938 – Aug. 31, 2015

Wil­liam “Dean” Jerni­gan passed away peace­fully at his home in Escalon on Au­gust 31, 2015 at the age of 77. Dean was born on Au­gust 28, 1938 in Sum­mer­field, Ok­la­homa to Ce­cil Jerni­gan and Ruth Carl­ton. He has been a res­i­dent of the Escalon area for the past 67 years. Dean served in the US Army in 1956 be­fore go­ing to work as a bot­tler at a win­ery. Af­ter re­tire­ment, Dean en­joyed col­lect­ing model clas­sic cars and fish­ing. Above all else Dean loved spend­ing time with his fam­ily. He was a won­der­ful, car­ing hus­band, fa­ther and grand­fa­ther that will be deeply missed and never for­got­ten.

Dean leaves be­hind his wife of 52 years, Shirley Jerni­gan, their chil­dren: Tammy Earnest of Port­land, OR, Pen­ney An­der­son of Escalon and Rachel Peters also of Escalon, his sib­lings: Larry Carl­ton of Arkansas, Phyl­lis Sch­w­erdt­feger of Modesto, Michael Carl­ton of Modesto and Drinda Tockey also of Modesto. Dean also leaves be­hind his six grand­chil­dren. Dean is pre­ceded in death by his sib­lings, Aline Roberts and Pauline Colm.

Ar­range­ments have been en­trusted to Dee­gan Fu­neral Chapels. A me­mo­rial ser­vice is sched­uled for Satur­day, Septem­ber 12th at 10:30 a.m. at Oak Val­ley Church, lo­cated at 175 South Bryan Ave., in Oak­dale.
