A midweek wa­ter main break on Wed­nes­day evening, Jan. 25 saw some res­i­dents lose wa­ter pres­sure in the city and re­sulted in city Pub­lic Works crews hav­ing to iso­late the break and re­move and re­place an es­ti­mated 17 feet of pipe. Escalon crews worked in co­op­er­a­tion with Cal­trans for traf­fic con­trol and PG&E re­gard­ing a nearby gas line to re­place the wa­ter line and res­i­dents in some ar­eas of the city were is­sued a ‘Boil Wa­ter’ ad­vi­sory for up to a 48-hour pe­riod af­ter the break and sub­se­quent re­place­ment project. By mid­day Thurs­day, shown here, work con­tin­ued on the ef­fort.
