Sun, Fun Greet Visitors During Weekend Fete
Escalon’s annual summer celebration, Park Fete, provided plenty of opportunities to make some good memories with family and friends over the weekend. The festivities started on Friday afternoon, July 14 and continued throughout the day and into the evening on Saturday, July 15.
Officials reported a relatively mellow crowd and near triple digit heat appeared to have kept numbers a little lower than in past years, but attendees enjoyed all things Park Fete, from the parade to food, music and more. Here are some photos from the festive event.
Action was fast and furious in Friday evening’s annual cornhole tournament sponsored by the Escalon Police Department.

Siblings Alden, 6, and Bailey Schultz, 8, of Valley Home found a little bit of shade to enjoy their ice cream on Saturday, with Alden opting for a banana swirl of flavor in his, Bailey choosing mint.
A fixture in the Saturday morning parade, the Escalon Azores Band also took a turn on stage on Saturday afternoon, performing for a large crowd.
Kids of all ages enjoyed the ‘reckless’ ride, which did some spins and swings.
