Kick­off Event For League Of Women Vot­ers

The League of Women Vot­ers of San Joaquin County will host its an­nual kick­off event on Satur­day, Sept. 16 at 11:30 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, 808 Porter Ave., Stock­ton.

The free event serves as an op­por­tu­nity for mem­bers of LWVSJC and the gen­eral pub­lic to help cel­e­brate the start of the new mem­ber­ship year, learn about the League’s pri­or­i­ties for the up­com­ing year, meet lo­cal mem­bers, and share a light lunch with other guests and the key­note speaker, San Joaquin County Reg­is­trar of Vot­ers Melinda Dubroff.

Dubroff was ap­pointed by the San Joaquin County Board of Su­per­vi­sors in May of 2017. She comes to San Joaquin County af­ter serv­ing in San Ma­teo County for al­most 18 years. At the kick­off event, Dubroff will speak to guests about San Joaquin County’s vi­sion for voter ser­vices and more. Guests will also hear about her ex­pe­ri­ence with pub­lic re­la­tions, so­cial me­dia, pol­icy and pro­ce­dural de­vel­op­ment, and voter out­reach, and her plans to use th­ese skills to in­crease voter par­tic­i­pa­tion and civic lit­er­acy in San Joaquin County.

“We look for­ward to wel­com­ing our New Reg­is­trar of Vot­ers to San Joaquin County and dis­cussing ways in which the League can help fur­ther the goals of greater voter par­tic­i­pa­tion in San Joaquin County,” said LWVSJC Pres­i­dent Chris­teen Fer­ree.
