***** The Skirts ‘n Flirts Square Dance Club of Oak­dale is host­ing a New Dancer Class. Class be­gins on Wed­nes­day, Sept. 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Oak­dale Grange Hall, 30 Lam­buth Ave., Oak­dale, at the cor­ner of West F Street and Lam­buth Av­enue. The first class is free, then the weekly fee is $6 for adults, $3 for chil­dren. Class is open to all those in­ter­ested; in­clud­ing sin­gles, cou­ples, and chil­dren nine and older ac­com­pa­nied by an adult. ***** The Escalon Com­mu­nity Cen­ter, 1055 Escalon Ave., will be the host site for the next gath­er­ing of the Good Time Ac­cor­dion Club, set for Wed­nes­day, Sept. 13, fea­tur­ing both mu­sic and a so­cial time. The ses­sion starts at 7 p.m. and ac­cor­dion fans and per­form­ers of all skill lev­els are wel­come. Ad­mis­sion is $5 at the door. Spe­cial guest per­former will be Roberto Rosa. ***** The Stanis­laus Wildlife Care Cen­ter will host its ad­mis­sion-free an­nual Day with Wildlife on Satur­day, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wildlife Cen­ter inside Fox Grove Fish­ing Ac­cess, 1220 Geer Road, Hugh­son. All are in­vited to come see some of their ed­u­ca­tional an­i­mals up close and per­sonal. There will be BBQ tri tip sand­wiches, hot dogs, ice cream sun­daes, face paint­ing, T-shirts for sale, raf­fle draw­ings, a bake sale, kid’s crafts, and more.

***** The lo­cal REO Speech­train Toast­mas­ters Club gath­ers for reg­u­lar meet­ings ev­ery Wed­nes­day morn­ing, 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m., at Perko’s Cafe, Pat­ter­son and Oak­dale roads, River­bank. ***** Mem­bers of the El Por­tal Par­ents Club are plan­ning for their third an­nual Casino Night on Fri­day, Sept. 29. This will be the club’s one and only fundraiser of the year and pro­ceeds fund en­rich­ment op­por­tu­ni­ties and ed­u­ca­tional needs for the mid­dle school. ***** The 11th An­nual Din­ner/ Dance/Auc­tion in honor of Grant and Jason Arnold, both of whom were tremen­dous lo­cal ath­letes, is set for Satur­day, Sept. 30 at the Escalon Sports­man’s Club on River Road. Cock­tails will be served from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., din­ner from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., fol­lowed by danc­ing to the sounds of Soul Heart un­til mid­night. Tick­ets are $50 per per­son; open bar. ***** The an­nual Bou­tique and Lun­cheon hosted by the Farm­ing­ton United Methodist Women is sched­uled for Satur­day, Nov. 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 25626 E. Elm St., Farm­ing­ton. There will be hand­crafted and home­made items, baked goods, a draw­ing for a hand­made quilt and the home­made soup and pie lun­cheon will be served from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Crafter space is avail­able for those who want to dis­play and sell their hand­crafted items.
