Cham­ber Preps For Sale, Pump­kin Day In The Park

With the an­nual city­wide yard sale now on the cal­en­dar, Escalon Cham­ber of Com­merce of­fi­cials are of­fer­ing up spa­ces in the Main Street Park for res­i­dents to come and sell their wares as well.

De­signed for those that may not have room to host a yard sale or those that live out­side the city lim­its, this is a great op­por­tu­nity to come into town and take ad­van­tage of the in­creased foot traf­fic for the an­nual city­wide yard sale day.

The event is sched­uled for Satur­day, Oct. 7 and spa­ces in the Main Street Park, at least 20 feet by 20 feet, will be avail­able for a $25 donation to the Escalon Cham­ber of Com­merce. Set up be­gins at 7 a.m.; the sale day it­self runs from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Con­tact Cham­ber of­fi­cials for more in­for­ma­tion. Ven­dors are also wel­come.

Mean­while, those in­ter­ested in par­tic­i­pat­ing in the city­wide sale and hav­ing their ad­dress listed on the map can pay a $5 fee and re­turn the form to City Hall by Wed­nes­day, Oct. 4.

The maps in­di­cat­ing where the sales are will be avail­able at lo­cal busi­nesses and City Hall be­gin­ning Thurs­day, Oct. 5.

Escalon Cham­ber, along with host­ing sites in the park for Yard Sale Day on Oct. 7, will of­fer the fifth an­nual Home­made Cos­tume Con­test and Pump­kin Carv­ing for its fam­ily-friendly Sun­day in the Park gath­er­ing on Oct. 8.

Free for all kids, there will be pump­kin carv­ing from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the cos­tume con­test from noon to 12:30 p.m., right by the Main Street Stage.

An­tique cars on dis­play will fea­ture Hal­loween themes, the his­toric ca­boose will be open for tours and there will be pop­corn, fun and prizes.
