State The­atre Hosts Film

In recog­ni­tion of Do­mes­tic Vi­o­lence Aware­ness Month, the Stanis­laus Fam­ily Jus­tice Cen­ter along with Haven Women’s Cen­ter, the Stanis­laus Of­fice of Ed­u­ca­tion, the Stanis­laus Com­mis­sion on Women and CSU Stanis­laus in­vite the public to a free movie event at The State The­atre.

There will be a panel dis­cus­sion fol­low­ing the film Sleep­ing With The En­emy, with the screen­ing set for Thurs­day, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.

Sleep­ing With The En­emy is rated R and runs one hour, 39 min­utes. In this thriller, a woman (Ju­lia Roberts) caught in an abu­sive mar­riage at­tempts to es­cape her ob­ses­sive, vi­o­lent hus­band (Pa­trick Ber­gin) by fak­ing a wa­tery death. She trav­els to a small South­ern town and takes on a new iden­tity, only to find out that her hus­band has dis­cov­ered her de­cep­tion.
