Thresh­old among bands playing Pump­kin Fair week­end Oct. 7-8

Thresh­old — a band known for ev­ery­thing from rock & roll to R&B — is playing the Main Stage of the 33rd an­nual Sun­rise Ki­wa­nis Pump­kin Fair tak­ing place Satur­day-Sun­day, Oct. 7-8.

They are on the Main Stage that will be lo­cated at Wil­son Park be­hind the Post Of­fice in down­town Man­teca from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Sun­day, Oct. 8.

Other Sun­day, Oct. 8, bands are Johnny & Dakota from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.; One Mile from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Agent from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

The bands on tap for Satur­day, Oct. 7, are Johnny & Dakota from 11 a.m. to noon; Sky Kings from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m.; Ran­dom Strangers from 2 to 3:30 p.m.; and Jim An­der­son and the Rebels from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The Sun­rise Ki­wa­nis event typ­i­cally draws more than 30,000 peo­ple down­town and has more than 150 ven­dors to line the streets in the down­town Man­teca tri­an­gle. Ven­dor fees are $450 for a food booth, $320 for a com­mer­cial or in­for­ma­tion booth, $250 for an arts & crafts booth, and $200 for a non-profit booth now that the early bird dead­line has passed. The forms are avail­able at man­te­ca­pump­kin­fair.org.

The free event is both days from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The heart of the Pump­kin Fair is Li­brary Park where Pump­kin Zone ac­tiv­i­ties for kids take place. In­cluded are ev­ery­thing from pump­kin rolling and pump­kin seed spit­ting con­tests to pump­kin pie eat­ing com­pe­ti­tion. You can also pick out and buy pump­kins to take home. There is also free en­ter­tain­ment on the Main Stage and the Com­mu­nity Stage.

There’s a car show Sun­day and haunted house both days.

Back this year is “Pump­kin Fair af­ter Dark.”

It fea­tures the pre­sen­ta­tion of the movie “Night of the Liv­ing Dead.” The 1968 movie clas­sic will be shown at the Pump­kin Fair Beer Gar­den from 7 to 9 p.m. on Satur­day, Oct. 7.

Ad­mis­sion is free. Beer, wa­ter, soda, and pop­corn will be avail­able for pur­chase. Beer sales will end at 8 p.m.

The event ac­tu­ally starts on Thurs­day, Oct. 5, with a car­ni­val at The Prom­e­nade Shops at Or­chard Val­ley at the 120 By­pass and Union Road. Hours on Oct. 5 are 5 to 10 p.m. The car­ni­val is also open Fri­day, Oct. 6, from 5 to 11 p.m.; Satur­day, Oct. 7, from noon to 11 p.m.; and Sun­day, Oct. 8, from noon to 10 p.m
