Suspect Sought In Vandalism
There have been several cases of graffiti/vandalism within the past week in Escalon, and local police are asking for the public’s help in tracking down the suspect.
“We have taken reports on September 23, 2017 in the 1600 block of Second Street, and 1700 block of Main Street,” said Police Chief Mike Borges.
Additional calls were reported over this past weekend and earlier incidents occurred in the 1400 block of Main and 1800 block of Coley.
“We believe one subject is responsible for these and other vandalism that has occurred in the city that is unreported,” said Borges.
The department now has video obtained from a local business of the person believed responsible and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.
“It is believe he has caused over a thousand dollars in damages,” Borges said.
The suspect appears to be either a Hispanic or White male adult with long dark hair in a ponytail, wearing baggie clothing and possibly white and black sneakers. The graffiti consists of orange and at times black paint, with the word “CORN.”
If you have information about the identity of this subject, contact Detective Hardgraves at (209) 6917358 or an on duty patrol officer by calling the nonemergency police department number at (209) 8387093.
