Museum Seeking Yearbooks
Looking to round out their collection, officials at the Escalon Historical Museum are seeking several different years of Escalon High School yearbooks.
They are looking for the following years to add to the collection: 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 2013. Those that would like to contribute to the museum can just drop the yearbooks by or call the museum, 838-7080 or 838-7176, to make arrangements for the donation.
The museum is at 1630 Main St., Escalon, and is open Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is also open by appointment for school tours.
The first Wednesday of each month is Reminisce Day where all are welcome to come in and share their memories of old time Escalon. The next Reminisce Day will be Wednesday, Sept. 5.
A gift shop features a wide variety of merchandise including many Escalon-themed items. Recent arrivals include Escalon postcards, new Tshirts, baseball caps and dishtowels. Handmade toy cabooses, donated by Roger Berhorst, are also for sale and another new item for sale is men’s pocket polo shirts.
Vickie Mello is president of the Museum’s Board of Directors with Dave Russell serving as vice president, Cathy Ensley as secretary and Adrian VanHouten as treasurer.
Dorothy Miller is the museum curator, Arlene Rasters is the historian. John Rasters serves as the webmaster, with Evelyn Swass the scheduler and Wendy Fenton is the gift shop manager.
