Mu­seum Seek­ing Year­books

Look­ing to round out their col­lec­tion, of­fi­cials at the Escalon His­tor­i­cal Mu­seum are seek­ing sev­eral dif­fer­ent years of Escalon High School year­books.

They are look­ing for the fol­low­ing years to add to the col­lec­tion: 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 2013. Those that would like to con­trib­ute to the mu­seum can just drop the year­books by or call the mu­seum, 838-7080 or 838-7176, to make ar­range­ments for the dona­tion.

The mu­seum is at 1630 Main St., Escalon, and is open Wed­nes­days from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Satur­days 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is also open by ap­point­ment for school tours.

The first Wed­nes­day of each month is Rem­i­nisce Day where all are wel­come to come in and share their mem­o­ries of old time Escalon. The next Rem­i­nisce Day will be Wed­nes­day, Sept. 5.

A gift shop fea­tures a wide va­ri­ety of mer­chan­dise in­clud­ing many Escalon-themed items. Re­cent ar­rivals in­clude Escalon post­cards, new Tshirts, base­ball caps and dish­tow­els. Hand­made toy ca­booses, do­nated by Roger Ber­horst, are also for sale and an­other new item for sale is men’s pocket polo shirts.

Vickie Mello is pres­i­dent of the Mu­seum’s Board of Di­rec­tors with Dave Rus­sell serv­ing as vice pres­i­dent, Cathy Ens­ley as sec­re­tary and Adrian VanHouten as trea­surer.

Dorothy Miller is the mu­seum cu­ra­tor, Ar­lene Rasters is the his­to­rian. John Rasters serves as the web­mas­ter, with Eve­lyn Swass the sched­uler and Wendy Fen­ton is the gift shop man­ager.
