Septem­ber Events Of­fered Through San Joaquin Parks

Two sep­a­rate ac­tiv­i­ties are sched­uled for Satur­day, Sept. 15 through San Joaquin County Parks, with bird watch­ing and star gaz­ing on the sched­ule.

Bird watch­ing at Wood­bridge is slated from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Wood­bridge Wilder­ness Area. If you en­joy bird watch­ing, this is the place to go. Trails, na­tive flora and fauna plus fish­ing at the edge of the Mokelumne River are also avail­able in this per­fect birdwatching spot.

Satur­day evening, Sept. 15 you can see the stars at Oak Grove, with in­door ac­tiv­i­ties at the Na­ture Cen­ter start­ing at 7 p.m., fol­lowed by the star gaz­ing.

There is a $6 park­ing fee at Oak Grove but all ac­tiv­i­ties in­side the park are free. You can view Venus, Mars, Jupiter and even the M57 (Ring Neb­ula) dur­ing this Astron­omy in the Park gath­er­ing at Oak Grove Re­gional Park.
