4. GOD’S-EYE KEY CHAINS

Th­ese take about ten min­utes, so the kids can make a few!

What You’ll Need

Tooth­picks Glue Thin yarn Key ring Em­broi­dery nee­dle Wooden beads, small pom­poms, and/or tas­sels

1. Cross two tooth­picks at their cen­ters. Glue to­gether. Let dry.

2. Criss­cross yarn over the cen­ter un­til the end is held in place se­curely. Wrap the yarn around the frame, loop­ing around each stick as you go. Pull snug each time, and push to­ward the cen­ter to avoid gaps. Con­tinue un­til the wo­ven area is 1½ in. wide. Knot off.

3. Loop a piece of yarn through the key ring. Thread ends into a nee­dle and through a bead and pom-pom. Knot off, trim, then glue onto one tooth­pick end.

4. Glue beads, pom-poms, and/ or tas­sels to re­main­ing sticks.
