The pub­lic gets to watch—and sam­ple—March 6-8 while 3,000 of the world’s best cheeses, but­ters and yo­gurts com­pete for “Best in Show” at the bi­en­nial World Cham­pi­onship Cheese Con­test in Madi­son, Wis­con­sin. Ku­dos to Emmi Roth’s Grand Cru Sur­choix, which won the 2016 con­test, the first U.S. cheese to do so since 1988.
